Services

GIS development

We design and build web GIS applications that put your spatial data to work: map portals for customers, dashboards for operations teams, and analysis tools for planners.

Discuss a web GIS project

See it in practice PlotViewer: Plot availability on 3D aerial imagery, so buyers can see exactly what is for sale.

Review note: Draft copy. Confirm service scope, especially consultancy, analysis and remote sensing.

The problem

Spatial data tends to sit in desktop files, spreadsheets and disconnected systems. The people who need it most, such as field teams, customers and managers, often cannot see it at all.

Off-the-shelf mapping products rarely match the way a business actually works. Adapting them can cost more than building the right thing.

Our approach

We start from the decisions your users need to make, then work back to the maps, layers and queries that support them.

Data is modelled properly in a spatial database. Then we build the interface on a mapping library that suits the job, from lightweight Leaflet maps to OpenLayers, MapLibre or the ArcGIS Maps SDK for heavier applications.

We also offer GIS consultancy, spatial analysis and remote sensing work when a project needs analysis rather than, or as well as, software.

What you get

  • Interactive web map applications and public portals
  • Operational dashboards with live or scheduled data
  • Spatial database design and data migration
  • Map services published through open standards (WMS, WFS, vector tiles)
  • Spatial analysis, suitability studies and remote sensing outputs
  • Documentation and handover for your team

Is this the right fit?

Confirm fit guidance matches the projects you accept

A good fit when

  • You have spatial data and a defined group of people who need to use it: customers, field teams or managers.
  • You need a working product or portal, not a one-off static map.
  • You want one team to handle the data model, the map and the application around it.

What we will need from you

  • Sample data and a description of where the full dataset lives.
  • Access to any systems the application must connect to.
  • A product owner who can answer questions and accept each milestone.

What shapes scope and price

  • Number and complexity of data sources, and how often they update.
  • User roles, permissions and sign-in requirements.
  • Integrations with existing systems.
  • Hosting, availability and handover expectations.

We do not publish fixed prices because these factors vary widely. After a first conversation we send a written proposal with scope, milestones, acceptance criteria and cost, so you can compare like for like before committing.

Where it is used

Plot and property portals
Buyers browse plot boundaries, sizes and availability on an aerial basemap.
Asset and network viewers
Utility and telecom teams locate assets, trace networks and review inspection history.
Environmental indicators
City-scale data such as surface heat is classified and mapped for decision makers.
Site suitability
Locations are scored against access, demographics and constraints to shortlist sites.

Technology

Mapping libraries
Leaflet, OpenLayers, MapLibre GL JS, CesiumJS, ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript
Servers and data
PostgreSQL with PostGIS, GeoServer, GeoWebCache
Analysis
QGIS, Python, Turf.js, Google Earth Engine

Questions

Industries: Real estate, Utilities, Telecom, Agriculture

Can you work with the data we already have?

Yes. Most projects start with existing shapefiles, CAD drawings, spreadsheets or databases. We assess the data first and plan any cleaning or migration as part of the scope.

Do we need ArcGIS licences?

Not necessarily. We build on open-source tools or on the Esri platform, depending on what you already own and what the application needs. We explain the licensing implications of each option before you commit.

Can the application be hosted on our own servers?

Yes. We can deploy to your infrastructure or a cloud provider, and we document the setup so your team can operate it.
